History of British ROCK

British rock was created in the 1950s in Britain. The first actual band that was formed was The Beatles. The beatles were known to of start "the british invasion" in the early 1960s. The british invasion was made up of about 300 rock and pop bands. The british invasion went for 3 years (1964-1967) and is when rock music became more popular. The British invasion took place in United Kingdom and United States. It was made up of many bands that we know today as rock royalty including rolling stones, fleetwood mac and oasis.

This was put in a magazine “In [1776] England lost her American colonies. Last week the Beatles took them back.”

The Beatles first hit was "PS I love you" and then in 1962 their song "Love me do" reached number 1 in the Uk charts, the next year another one of their songs reached number 1 on British charts and that was the start of British Rock Music. A few years after the British Invasion one of our all time favourite bands were born. "Queen". Our modern day british rock is now more soloists like Elton John, Mick Jagger and was David Bowie before he died.
